Map & Compass course

Every year Halifax Regional Search and Rescue runs a spring public Map & Compass training course, which has traditionally been used as “pre-E2C skills training” by many E2C participants. The dates for the spring course have now been set as Weds March 28th and Sat March 31st, 2012 and the course cost is $65.
The Map & Compass course gives participants a good grounding in navigation techniques. You will learn to read a compass, measure distance via ‘pacing’, plot routes and work with maps. Much of the course is practical and will take place outside.
